Readers Raised $1174.27 For Education

Every purchase on Books Beyond Borders has a purpose. Thanks to you — we’ve raised a total of 1174.27 SGD in profits and direct donations in Q2 to improve education in rural Nepal. 

What do we mean by ‘profits’? 

In the simplest terms, when we say 100% of profit — we mean what’s left after all expenses are deducted from the income of book sales. Like all businesses, we pay overheads, bills, cover free shipping, and other investments so we don't compromise on customer experiences. Read more about how our financials work.

What impact can we create?

The pandemic has kept 1.6 billion children and young potentials out of the classroom today — many of them reside in rural regions like Nepal. Our local partner, Teach For Nepal has been at the forefront of the illiteracy battle since 2013. We’ve invested the funds to help TFN develop a local radio program to help students living in rural communities learn from home. The program will run over the course of the next 8 weeks, starting today. (More details on our blog soon.)

There’s a lot more work to be done — but as always, we’re grateful to have you join us in this fight against global illiteracy.
